• Love and care
• Accountability and transparency
• Self-respect and respect for others
• Integrity and God-fearing

Our passion to establish this organization roots back to 2007, when Nambakire Catherine and the now late Edrisa Kisalita Muwanga (husband and wife Oscewi – founders) living in Luweero T.C, gave birth to Nalunga Habiba and Lugolobi Badru(2011) and proved from professional doctors that the two children had sickle cells.

Under the circumstances and challenges they were undergoing to treat the children, they came to realize that many parents are facing the same challenge, but are unaware of the treatment and its management. This formed the basis for uniting parents of children with sickle cells and OSCEWI was formed and registered in 2017. The vision was warmly welcomed in our community who felt our impact to the extent that al Sickle Cells children in our community were nick named “Catherine’s children and to others OSCEWI Children”.

OSCEWI’s humanitarian and development intervention programs are holistic, people-centred, community based and sustainable. Therefore, sustainable livelihoods approaches are adopted for all OSCEWI strategic and short-term program focus in our area of operation.

The organization puts into operation participatory approaches, strategic planning and community mobilization to find solutions to community problems. It offers a range of programming and support in: Awareness Raising and Advocacy, Family Economic Empowerment and Capacity Building, Health Care Program, Formal and Vocational Education and Voluntary welfare Support program.
